In a remarkable show of philanthropy, acclaimed actor Suriya and his family have contributed ₹50 lakh to support victims of the catastrophic landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. The calamity has claimed over 250 lives, with many still missing, galvanising widespread humanitarian efforts. Suriya, along with Jyotika and Karthi, donated to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, expressing heartfelt condolences and gratitude for the ongoing rescue operations.

Other luminaries like Mohanlal and Mammootty have also made significant donations of ₹25 lakh and ₹20 lakh, respectively. Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim provided ₹25 lakh through their production house, while Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan offered ₹20 lakh.

These charitable acts underscore a unified response from celebrities and the public to aid the affected communities. Beyond monetary contributions, many of these stars have lauded the tireless efforts of emergency responders and rescue teams on the ground.
